"Fast fashion never lasts, and it looks as cheap as it is"

What first drew you to fashion and how did your interest in styling evolve over time?

My parents are the most fashionable people I know, so my interest in fashion began with being inspired by them from a very young age. As I learned and understood that clothes are a way of expressing oneself, my interest has only grown over time

How do you define your personal style?

Is it cringe to say timeless? I mean, 99% of my wardrobe is vintage or stolen stuff from my dad/granddad.

What’s your go-to outfit when you want to feel extra confident?

It’s all about comfort! I feel the most
comfortable and confident in a pair of oversized jeans, a tank top, sneakers and my dad’s old leather jacket. Or an oversized suit, you can never go wrong with an oversized suit.

What’s your favorite vintage find?

"A big grey leather jacket that I found for 50 bucks in Tokyo, I will wear it until I die!! "

How do you keep your style fresh and exciting without constantly shopping?

Exchange clothes with your friends is a great trick. Also looking at Pinterest or in magazines, trying to recreate looks that you like with the pieces that you already have. Also, even a boring outfit can become super fun with the right accessories.

What’s the most unusual or unique piece in your closet?

My mom’s old Yohji Yamamoto cardigan from the early 2000s—I've never seen a piece like it. It’s chunky (if you can say that about a cardigan, haha) and has a big pocket on the back. It’s just fun and unique!

How do you decide what to wear for a special occasion?

It depends on my mood that day; I’m very bad at planning my outfits ahead of time. But I often ask myself what vibe I want to give off, and then I build my outfit around that.

Do you have a favorite fashion era or decade that you draw inspiration from?

Tom Ford for Gucci in the 90’s.

What’s a fashion trend you’ve tried and loved, but didn’t expect to?

The ballet core era. Never thought I would wear ballerina shoes.

What’s your go-to accessory that you never leave the house without?

My jewellery, I feel naked without my rings.

What’s one fashion trend you hope never comes back?

Everything neon.

How do you mix comfort and style in your daily outfits?

Oversized and masculine clothing mixed with sheer materials or a pair of pointy heels. Mixing different vibes creates an interesting look in my opinion.

Is there a fashion rule you always break or bend?

Hmm I don’t think there are many rules in fashion, that’s what I love about it. But I guess mixing silver & gold jewellery could be one?

What’s one fashion mistake you’ve learned from in the past?

Fast fashion never lasts, and it looks as cheap as it is.

How do you approach shopping
for new clothes—are you a planner or a spontaneous buyer?

I try to think of what's missing in my wardrobe when I get dressed in the morning. I can be very impulsive though, when a piece catches my eye (especially vintage), I often feel the need to get it since it may never show up again.
